What live betting actually involves
Live (in-play) betting means placing bets while a sporting event is in progress. Odds update continuously as the match unfolds. The available markets are typically narrower than pre-match betting (you can't bet on every market live) but the prices reflect the current state of the game.
Cash-out allows you to settle a placed bet before the event finishes. The bookmaker offers you a payout figure based on the current state — typically less than the full potential return if your bet is winning, or some money back if it's losing but not yet lost. Cash-out offers carry margin (the bookmaker buying back the bet at a discount). See our cash-out fairness calculator.
Bet builders let you combine multiple markets within a single match into a single accumulator-style bet — for example, "Sundowns to win + over 2.5 goals + Player X to score". The combined odds compound, but so does the bookmaker's margin. Useful for entertainment; rarely the highest-EV bet structure.
Live streaming means watching the match within the operator's website or app while you bet. Useful for live betting because you can react to what you see rather than relying on text updates. Coverage varies — major events are usually streamed; lower-tier matches often aren't.
